HE Tarek El Molla set to headline Egypt Mining Forum 2023 with keynote speech on revitalising Egypt’s mining sector

The second edition of the annual Egypt Mining Forum, hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and supported by the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA), is set to take place from 18-19 July 2023 at The Nile Ritz-Carlton in Cairo.
HE Tarek El Molla, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, is set to open the Forum with a keynote speech on Revitalising Egypt’s Mining and Minerals Sector, outlining the Egyptian government’s ambitions to build upon its mining potential and make the sector a significant contributor to its economy.
The two-day Forum, held under the theme ‘Building upon 120 years of geological discoveries for a decarbonised and sustainable future’, will address the diverse challenges faced by Egypt's mining sector. This includes formulating policies and strategies to attract global mining investors while paving a pathway towards a more sustainable future.
Commenting on his participation, HE Tarek El Molla stated “Egypt enjoys huge mineral wealth that should be managed for the benefit of the country.There are various mining opportunities across the value chain, and we are working hard based on a clear vision to unlock all this potential together with our international partners.”
The Egypt Mining Forum will bring together top government officials, global mining industry leaders, climate and sustainability experts, technologists, economists and international financial institutions offering a high-level holistic platform to strategise and discuss how Egypt can establish itself as a world-class trading hub for minerals and metals by 2040.
The Forum is composed of panel discussions, keynote speeches and fireside chats that have been carefully curated to address the most pressing issues facing Egypt’s mining sector as well as today’s thriving global mining industry.
In addition, HE Tarek El Molla will host the first closed door, invitation only Mining and Minerals Strategic Leadership Roundtable providing the opportunity to discuss cooperation within Egypt’s new investor friendly mining and minerals sector.
