Khaled awarded his B.S. Geology from Assiut University, Egypt (1988) and MSc. Engineering Geology, from V.U.B, Brussels, Belgium (1991). In 1992, Khaled started his professional career at Arab Swiss Engineering Co. (ASEC). In 2002 he was appointed as a Quarry Manager at ASEC Company for Mining (ASCOM), then in 2005 he was promoted to Blasting Manager, within the following 3 years he was responsible of 70% of the blasting activities among cement quarries, with deep interest in applying new explosive techniques in Egypt. In 2008 he moved to Suez Cement Co. “Heidelberg Materials Group” to take up the post of Corporate Raw Materials & Quarry Manager. Khaled is still leading the operation of 10 quarries with total annual production # 10 Mton. Since 2002 he has become a Trinee in drilling & blasting techniques and a Lecturer in some of the Egyptian Universities and Institutes. Khaled has registered in 2006 as a member of EFEE, Europe and ISSE, USA. He published some journal and conference papers. Over the last 30-years he used his practical experiences and wide connections with the explosives and drilling machines companies to educate the new blasters on how to develop their skills and achieve an outstanding level of success.
